Apologies for being MIA recently all, I’ve been getting seriously stuck in with my new job – life update with details on all that coming soon, but I’m making a serious vow to myself to not slack on the blog from now on, promise!
I wanted to share some amazing new NYX goodies I’ve recently purchased, including some of their new(ish) range. NYX is seriously up there as one of my favourite makeup brands at the moment. The quality is impeccable for the low price and they literally have a dupe for ANYTHING – more on that shortly!
Total Control Drop Foundation – £14
Okay, so I’ve been waiting for this foundation for months. I won’t lie, I didn’t think that this would be the foundation for me; I have combination skin so I tend to avoid liquid foundations. However, this stuff sits PERFECTLY on my face! The foundation is build-able and you don’t need a great deal of product to achieve full coverage. I tend to apply 5-10 drops, depending on the occasion, which works wonders. Does it last? YES! However, I’ll always use the NYX Matte setting spray which I’d highly recommend to finish with, regardless of the products used. The foundation comes in a gorgeous, compact glass bottle and with a pipette applicator, meaning no wasted product – game changer!
Bright Idea Illuminating Stick – £7.50
This little stick has changed my base routine forever. Once I’ve moisturised and primed, I apply this all over my face, resulting in me looking like The Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz. However, this helps to give my face a satin finish once the foundation is applied. At one time, I wanted every part of my face to look matte, but since trying this new technique, I haven’t gone back! Give me all the glow, any day!
Epic Ink Liner – £9
This has got to be THE best eyeliner that I’ve ever used – no joke. The Epic Ink Liner has been said to be a Kat Von D Tattoo Liner dupe (£16). The Epic Ink Liner has a matte finish and is completely water and ‘rub’ proof. The pen nib of is so thin, resulting in super sharp, precise wings – oh, so important. Just try it, seriously!
Born To Glow Illuminator – £8
Liquid illuminators have never really interested me, but I am loving the dewy, glow look at the moment so I thought, why not? I went with shade Gleam which is a gorgeous peach / pink shade. Once blended with a small beauty blender, you get a pearly, pinky finish (which looks incredible with a tan, can I add). I apply this product on my cheek bones and finish with a powder highlighter just above – like I said, all the glow, please!
NYX is the queen of beauty bargains and I can see my makeup bag becoming dedicated to the brand. What other budget brands are you loving at the moment? Let me know in the comments below.
